Ms. Elliott has over 25 years of experience in the assessment field. She began her career at Patriot Properties conducting revaluations for municipalities. She continued in the field at Vision Appraisal, formerly MMC, before becoming an assessor for many New England towns, most recently the assessor for the City of Portsmouth, NH. She has been affiliated for over 8 years with the law firm of Fitzgerald, O’Brien and Robin where she has litigated many appeals before the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board as well as appearing before local boards. In addition, she has testified as an expert for both the Connecticut and New Hampshire Attorneys General. She is a long time member of the IAAO, a certified Assessor in Connecticut and New Hampshire and a member of the Massachusetts Bar.
Ms. Elliott served as Director of the New England office for a national tax firm. As a tax representative, she was responsible for real estate and personal property tax appeals for the Northeast Region, Maine to Maryland. She assisted clients in constructing successful strategies for managing their property tax liabilities. She was responsible for all case management, hiring of appraisers and local counsel where necessary, negotiated settlements with local board of assessors, tax boards, and at the trial court level. She is a 1985 graduate of Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, completed her Juris Doctor at Western New England School of Law in 1996 and has an LLM in estate and gift tax in 2007.
